What is Giving Tuesday?
Celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, December 3rd, #GivingTuesday is a movement to inspire millions of people across the world to give back to causes and issues that matter to them. This international day of charity encourages everyone, everywhere to select a charity to support.
We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia to expand our #GivingTuesday effort and raise as much as we can for this year’s beneficiary.
This year we have selected Mercy Hospice as our #GivingTuesday beneficiary!
Who is Mercy Hospice?
Mercy Hospice is a CCA beneficiary of Catholic Social Services. They are a community grounded in faith and service where single women and mothers with children, experiencing homelessness and in recovery can find opportunities for new beginnings.
Below are some of the most requested items directly from the women who have faced the harsh reality of homelessness and addiction and are working towards building a new, successful life.
As you may notice, so many of these items are basic needs that we may take for granted. A donation of any size can put a toy in a child’s hand or a blanket on a family’s bed.
When you donate $25, Mercy Hospice can purchase
3 baby blankets or 10 baby toys.
When you donate $50, Mercy Hospice can purchase
4 packs of diapers or 6 baby pajamas.
When you donate $100, Mercy Hospice can purchase
2 baby monitors or 2 sets of pots and pans.
Your gift gives opportunity, hope and life to so many deserving mothers and children right here in our community. You will put shoes on their feet, food on their tables, coats on their backs and so much more. Your faith-filled support truly saves lives.
Please consider a donation to Mercy Hospice for #GivingTuesday to help support mothers and children who are rebuilding their lives at Mercy Hospice. It is your generosity that they will never forget.
